During moments of prolonged stillness over the lockdown periods of 2020 and 2021, Will composed a prolific amount of music. Having recorded said compositions, Will then decided to pair each piece with an audio excerpt from a public speaker or philosopher. The ambition of the project was to try and bring a tangible sense of expression to an 'organic' set of musical works. To extrapolate further, when the music was initially composed there were no preconceptions regarding what the music was trying to say or be. By adding - often profound - spoken word to the music, it was hoped that both composer and listener would be able gain an understanding of what emotion and/or state of being the composer was in during the writing process. As the project seems to have revolved around reverse engineering one's own psyche in order to reflect on the intrinsic and spontaneous nature of composition, it has aptly been titled The Organic Thought Project.
